About the Working Man

I am Thomas Brown, the voice behind The Working Man podcast and the creator of the Bills Without Worry program.

My focus is on practical wealth building techniques for everyday people. Not spreadsheets, not apps, not get-rich-quick noise - just simple and effective systems that produce results.

The Bills Without Worry program came from a need to reconstruct our finances after both of us went through a divorce. We started by building a simple, automated, rock solid process of looking after our family bills.

Once we had those foundations in place, I dedicated over a decade to sorting through all the personal finance and financial independence archives, blogs, books, podcasts and videos to find the nuggets of finance and investing gold that has allowed us to rebuild our future. This required an accelerated pace that I liken to flying with afterburners engaged.

So powerful were the compounding effects of the multiple simple strategies, I began to wonder why more people don't employ these techniques?

I stumbled upon the murky world of behavioural economics, and incentive driven outcomes, where we are encouraged to follow particular actions despite them not being in most people's best interests.

Armed with this knowledge I got a little angry and now make it my mission to show people that there is another way, a path less travelled, but that delivers dramatic results that can give hope for a better, wealthier and more stable future for us all.

Like pulling back the curtain in The Wizard Of Oz, once you realise WHY you are being encouraged away from the best choices, you can open your eyes to a less stressful, but more powerful future, where you control the outcome.

I believe that knowledge is power. From this knowledge comes a better understanding of any situation, your position in it, and gives you permission to choose a different outcome from the standard pathway that most people follow.

AI is one tool that opens up the knowledge base about finances to the average person. The ability to use AI properly can hit “the afterburners” on your knowledge journey. It is my desire to teach more people about how to use it properly for this purpose.
